Because just because I hate it doesn’t mean I can stop playing it…

…anyone else have ME3 on the PS3?
I’ve got a badass Asari Vanguard who is way too much fun to use…
My PSN is kyuubifred, if you want to play. Add me?

Perhaps It was silly of me, perhaps I’ve just been grabbing at Emergency Induction Ports, but…I really, honestly thought Bioware had something else up their sleeve, that Starkid wasn’t, COULDN’T have been the actual ending. I was expecting them to waltz out at PAX today and say, “April Fools! Don’t worry, guys, the Indoctrination Theory is true, you were right all along! Now, the real ending will be released on…”
But then…this.
I want to be happy about it, but the only way I was able to look past the ending’s glaring plotholes was by assuming they didn’t actually happen. Any “clarification” they could add now…well, logic dictates that the epilogue will be mostly comprised of the entire galaxy starving to death. And even if the extended scenes DON’T show a miserable, slow death for everyone in the Sol system and the stranded Normandy crew, I worry that the justification will be so contrived as to seem ridiculous. Bioware tried so hard to make their edgy downer ending that, at this point, if everyone doesn’t die horribly, it will seem more Disney-esque than if they’d simply given us a happy end in the first place.
Why, WHY didn’t they just give us a happy end in the first place?

I mean, honestly, if the ending hadn’t had a twist at all, if we’d just destroyed the Reapers without committing unrelated genocide, it STILL wouldn’t have been a “happy” ending, because BILLIONS have already died. And yes, people would have complained about SOMETHING. But you can bet that if Shepard had been given the possibility of a “cliched” ending and retired on a beach with little blue children or adopted krogan babies, there would NOT be the uproar there is now. I won’t get into what exactly is wrong with the ending itself, because tons of people have already said it more eloquently than I ever could, but…in all seriousness, it ruined the game.

Up until that last 10 minutes, ME3 was perhaps one of the most perfect, emotionally moving games in existence, but when we look back on it years from now, that ending debacle will be what we remember- the fan outrage, the cupcake protest, the argument for artistic integrity. Clearly, Bioware wanted their ending to be memorable, but this was the wrong kind of memorable. Maybe a cliched happy ending wouldn’t have been praised for its unique artistic vision, but it wouldn’t have been HATED. Not like this.

In conclusion, there is a giant, ME3-sized hole in my stomach where my joy used to be. Will I download the “extended cut” DLC? Hell yeah, it’s free after all. But will I enjoy it? Will it, CAN it fix the multitude of problems that arose in that last, 10 minute cutscene…using only more cultscenes?

Damn it, I hope so.

/end rant. Wow, this turned out much longer than I wanted it to be. Discuss?

Made some chibis for a throw-away assignment for my art class.  Might post the finished product at some point, but probably not since there’s no good way to scan it.
…I really want to play a female turian.
Also the Widow is apparently the only gun I can draw. :-|

Here are some Dragon Age things that I drew forever ago and never finished.  Might color some eventually, but for now here they are.  Some have various history notes scrawled in the corners because I was too lazy to pull out more paper for note-taking.  Needless to say, I have never actually read those notes.

The last one was inspired by something payroo drew months ago involving a Dragon Age zombie apocalypse AU, which I fully believe needs to be a thing.  I would suggest that Bioware make a horrible zombie DLC but OH RIGHT THEY’RE DONE WITH DA2 FOREVER >8|

I imagine zombie-hunter Isabela would be a truck driver/part-time car thief or something to that effect, because nobody fights zombies on ships, really.  Also, though in-game she wields dual daggers, the only guns I can see her wielding are very large.  Isabela don’t need no silly handguns.

Also, behold my anatomically bizarre Shepard because I shamelessly adore her even though I have no idea how to draw space things.  She is a renegade infiltrator who banged Garrus and got vaporized at the end of ME3 leaving him stranded on Gilligan’s planet watching EDI and Joker bone for eternity or however long he managed to survive without dextro-amino food (unless cyborgs don’t need to eat anymore??).
Yep.

Oh look I drew Garrus being classy

But I forgot his scouter thing in the second one.  This shames me. :-(

seriously, that indoctrination theory is starting to sound pretty good now.

pretty sad when you get to the point where you’re actually hoping for the “it was all a dream!” ending, but seriously.  it makes sense.  so either Bioware used the most genius trippy dream symbolism ever, or their writers just got horrendously wasted 24 hours before the ending was due and decided to give their collective fanbase a gigantic middle finger.

so i’m hoping for the former.

if can’t locate other refugees, will seek shelter in woods. aliens don’t seem to care much about less populated areas. if anyone else on this channel, please send help. need medigel if possible.
think i just heard a skycar, will try to reach. don’t know how good these squid ships see in the dark, but not waiting around to find out. try to get offworld. friends, family, internet colleagues, good luck. maker protect us all.
